Smoothies {Dessert and Adult}

This is the last week of featuring smoothies.

Thank you to everyone who allowed me use of their pictures.  Be sure to visit all the featured blogs for recipes.

In case you missed them, there were
Smoothies with Unusual Ingredients
Classic & Favorite smoothies

Sticking with tradition, I've saved dessert for last...Dessert & Adult Smoothies.
I can't guarantee that these dessert smoothies aren't going to show up as breakfast though.

Raspberry Banana Smoothie (or not) from Carole
@ Carole's Chatter
While Carole may be on the fence about if this brandy and raspberry blend is officially a smoothie, I'm going to call it an adult smoothie.
Carole hosts a weekly link-up called Food on Friday.  Each week is a new theme (shrimp, garlic, cake, etc.).  It's a good resource when you have an ingredient and don't know what to do with it.  Carole's Chatter is not solely a food blog, but you will find some delicious recipes like Spicy Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms, Roasted Carrots in Orange & Lemon Butter, & Crispy Skin Chicken.

This blend that includes vanilla yogurt, cinnamon, and brown sugar is a nice cold treat to end a hot day.  (Or start one)
Chaya maintains 2 food blogs.  Her creations are often based on what she has on hand, so a lot of what you'll find are Chaya originals.   You'll also can find a My Meatless Monday link-up each week at My Sweet and Savory.  Chaya's Potato Spinach Pie is a meatless dish she recently shared and one I'm itching to make.  Creamy Garlic Vegetables and Baked Apple Pie Wontons also top my list.

Coffee and chocolate alert!
Stirring the Pot is the blog I have followed the longest--before I had my own blog and before I knew what blogging was all about.  Kim is also a long-time and very supportive follower of my blog...one of my first followers, actually.  She co-hosts I Heart Cooking Clubs which I've had a blast with over the years.  Kim will have you in stitches and make your mouth water with her beautiful photos.  Try Pasta with Whole Cloves of GarlicChicken, Broccoli, and Pasta Casserole, and Mexican Tortilla Salad with Cotija Cheese and Cilantro-Pepita Dressing.

Nutella, people.  Nutella!
The thing that hooked me about Terry's blog is that her and her husband live and work out of their RV.  Which means Terry cooks her heart out in an RV kitchen.  You'll be amazed like I am by the things she makes in such a small space!  I've made Terry's Mexican Pasta and it was a hit with my family.  Slow Cooker Coffee Braised Chile Beef and Seafood Pizza are on my "to try" list.

Go see Carole, Chaya, Kim, and Terry tell them "hi."

My thanks to these four super ladies for sharing their creations.
And, of course, thanks for the booze and sweets!

Cantaloupe, Honey, and Vanilla Smoothie
is something I put together with over-ripe cantaloupe I needed to use.

I made it for breakfast, but it is on the sweet and heavy side.
Also, I make my breakfast smoothies the night before and this one can't sit overnight.  The cantaloupe separates big time.

Another dessert smoothie:  Peanut Butter, Chocolate, and Banana

Cantaloupe, Honey, and Vanilla Smoothie

Makes 2 servings--about 8 oz each

2 cups cubed cantaloupe
1/2 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 Tbsp honey
1/4-1/2 cup low-fat milk

Combine all the ingredients in a blender, using 1/4 cup milk.  Blend well.  Add additional milk if you'd prefer a thinner consistency.
